What's New at Reddaway

Earlier deliveries on standard service

Earlier deliveries on standard service

All across Reddaway, we've renewed our focus on reducing cycle time--the time it takes us to move shipments through our system--from pickup to final delivery.

Our system-wide initiative, named "Critical Dispatch," enables us to make more standard service deliveries earlier in the day. Critical Dispatch timelines have been engineered so that originating service centers are able to move more shipments into our destination service centers sooner.

The bottom line is our customers experience earlier delivery times and more time to work with the shipments after they arrive. In many cases, we can even guarantee delivery before 9 a.m., noon or within your time window, if you need the added assurance that your shipment will arrive at a specific time in the morning.

Experience what reduced cycle times can mean for your business. Schedule your next shipment with Reddaway online at reddawayregional.com or call the Reddaway Customer Care Group at 1-888-420-8960.

YRC Worldwide announces second quarter results and Teamsters ratification of contract changes

YRC Worldwide announces second quarter results and Teamsters ratification of contract changesYRC Worldwide, parent company of Reddaway, announced its second-quarter results on July 30.* The results felt the ongoing impact of the economic recession and historically low shipping volumes, as well as the noise from rumors and speculation in the market.

Since the close of the second quarter, we continue to make progress on our comprehensive plan to realize efficiencies from the YRC integration, restore financial strength, and position our operating companies for future success.

"We appreciate our customers that continue to stand firmly behind our plans and show their support with business every day. And we are pleased that a number of new customers have come on board to take full advantage of the largest, most comprehensive network available today," says Bill Zollars, chairman, president and CEO.

On August 7, an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters was announced which enables the company to reduce its cost structure, preserve capital and be more competitive in the marketplace. Immediate cost savings from the modified agreement are estimated at $45 million monthly and increase to $50 million monthly in 2010.

"This vote sends a clear message to our customers and our competitors. We are moving forward together, and we're moving forward with confidence, delivering uninterrupted and unparalleled service in our superior networks," said Mike Smid, President of YRC Inc. and Chief Operations Officer of YRC Worldwide.

U.S. manufacturing performed better than anticipated

U.S. manufacturing performed better than anticipatedAccording to a release issued by the Institute for Supply Management on Aug. 3, "The decline in manufacturing was slower in July when compared to June, as the more leading components of the PMI--the New Orders and Production Indexes--rose significantly above 50 percent, thus setting an expectation for future growth in the sector. The Employment and Inventories Indexes are still contracting, but the rate is slowing and they are moving in the right direction." . . . "Overall, it would be difficult to convince many manufacturers that we are on the brink of recovery, but the data suggests that we will see growth in the third quarter if the trends continue."

Tips to Make Your Life Easier

You're supporting environmental sustainability when you ship with Reddaway

You're Supporting Environmental Sustainability When You Ship with ReddawayThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded the highest ranking in its SmartWay™ voluntary emission program to YRC Worldwide, our parent company. This is the fifth consecutive year we've received this honor since the EPA launched the program in 2004 to address the environmental and economic challenges surrounding growth in the freight industry.

To be eligible, we had to submit to the EPA an annual fleet model profile that takes into consideration our emission reduction strategies. We are pleased that our efforts have again earned such high marks in the SmartWay Partnership recognition. Case Study: Delivering confidence to cleaning supply customer

Case Study: Delivering confidence to cleaning supply customerWhile this Portland customer may provide commercial-grade cleaning products to hotels, restaurants and industries, they sell themselves on service. That's where Reddaway comes in.

It begins with meeting the customer's delivery expectations. Even when given tough delivery requirements, we try to never let the customer down.

Communication strengthens the partnership. A dedicated customer service representative provides twice-daily delivery reports and proactively notifies the customer if a delivery issue comes up.

Personal accountability solidifies the partnership. We know our drivers are an extension of our customer whenever we make a delivery. That's why a smile and a little extra effort mean so much.

Through the years, our work with this customer evolved from a business relationship to a great partnership. Today, Reddaway delivers confidence with each of the 1,000-plus outbound shipments the customer entrusts to our care each month.
