Multitask with our online bill of lading

Our updated bill of lading BOL Creation and Management page on yrcregional.com(BOL) can make your life easier while it helps ensure your shipment moves smoothly through the Reddaway system.

For example, the online bill of lading automatically assigns your PRO number, which displays on your BOL PDF document and BOL confirmation screen. The BOL is transmitted electronically into the Reddaway billing system, reducing the risk of data entry errors, which helps ensure data integrity and enhances shipment tracking throughout the life cycle of the shipment.

Also, when you create your bill of lading online, you can schedule a pickup at the same time. Check the Schedule a Pickup box at the top of the BOL creation page, and your pickup automatically is scheduled when you submit your bill of lading. This saves you time—no need to call or complete a separate online pickup request.

Consumer confidence on the rise

ATA claims a VMT tax would be costly to administer and enforce

truck on roadIn a recent news release, the American Trucking Associations announced it would oppose a Vehicle Miles Tax (VMT), believing the traditional system of registration fees and fuel taxes remains the most-efficient way to finance highway projects. While the passenger car market is seeing an influx of hybrid and electric technology, there currently isn't a readily available alternative to diesel fuel for over-the-road trucks.

Volcanic eruption challenges inventory strategies

Volcano cloud, ashLean inventory strategies, which were effective during the recession, are causing problems for companies with shipments held up because of the volcano eruption in Iceland. Bill Carreira, CEO of Carreira Consulting warns companies not to overreact to a "once in a lifetime event," and recommends they maintain emergency inventory.

Tips to Make Your Life Easier

Use PRO numbers like a pro

The PRO number, or progressive rotating order number, identifies your shipment as it moves through our system, helping ensure your shipment arrives at its destination on time and giving you a way to track its progress and match a shipment to an invoice.

Here are two ways to assign a PRO number to your shipment:

  1. Use the PRO stickers from the booklet that your local driver or account manager provided, affixing the pre-numbered stickers to your bill of lading and your shipment.
  2. Complete and submit an online bill of lading at reddawayregional.com to have the PRO number automatically assigned. You have a choice of a web-assigned, origin-independent "301" PRO or an origin-specific PRO you can get from your local driver or account manager. Then, just print your bill of lading and labels, remembering to affix the labels to your shipment.
