A Very "Specialized" Expedited Delivery

Last November 20, 2016, fifty children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America anxiously awaited a very special delivery from Reddaway.

The expedited shipment arrived at the Peter Sagan VIP Charity Ride event in Westlake Village, CA at 8:19 a.m. sharp, with time to spare for the big reveal--fifty kids' bicycles donated by Specialized Bicycle Components.

The fifty lucky children donned their brand-new Specialized helmets and happily tested out their shiny new rides.

Meanwhile, the professionals from Specialized breathed a collective sigh of relief. Securing this delivery presented a host of logistical hurdles that at first seemed insurmountable.

However, thanks to the efforts of Reddaway Senior Account Manager, Janice Tabish, and Customer Care Representative, Elaine Davis, the delivery was a great success.

"Once the warehouse team and I learned about this load Thursday night, it was a scramble to get it filled and to find a transportation solution that could get the bikes delivered in time for the event," said Josh Clark, Carrier Specialist for Specialized.

"Jan and Elaine did a fantastic job on short notice, and the specialized quotes team had a very competitive rate back to us within the hour. Jan and Elaine really do a fantastic job taking care of us here at Specialized. Their attention to our account helps elevate Reddaway well above competitors here in the West."

"Sometimes I feel like the question is complicated, but the answer is simple," said Emily Watts, Sports Marketing Manager for Specialized. "We presented what could have been a challenge that most companies would have thought too complicated--too impossible to pull off on our timeline--however, Reddaway kept it simple. They delivered a solution."

Over $23,500 in bikes and helmets were donated to fifty children in need. The donation was made as part of the Peter Sagan VIP Charity Ride, hosted by professional road bike racer, Peter Sagan. The event was organized in part by KL Promotions, who helped plan the event and raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Peter Sagan is considered one of bicycling's greatest talents. He has earned two World Championships, two Paris-Nice stages, three Tirreno-Adriatico stages, one in the Tour De Romandie, two and the overall classification in the Tour de Pologne, a record fifteen stages and the overall in the Tour of California.

The event saw 200 people sign up for an extended bike ride through the beautiful San Fernando Valley with Peter Sagan, himself. An auction also took place, and all-in-all, the Peter Sagan VIP Charity event raised over $54,500 for the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Reddaway is delighted to have been able to help Specialized, KL Promotions, Peter Sagan and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with this very special delivery.
