Border Security
Today’s antiterrorist efforts are transforming cross-border transportation. We work with federal agencies to help develop such programs as C-TPAT, PIP, FAST and ACE.
Yellow companies not only keep up-to-date with requirements, we are in the forefront—helping with their evolution.
Our certifications in these programs provide our customers faster processing, translating to an average crossing time of three minutes a shipment. 98 percent of our shipments are pre-approved for Customs clearance before arriving at the border.
Because your marketplace changes daily, you need transportation choices and flexibility now more than ever. We are a full-service, one-source transportation provider. Yellow companies provide the service and flexibility you need to get any job done.

Certified and Compliant
Yellow companies are border-security compliant and certified in the C-TPAT, FAST, CSA and PIP programs. Our participation in these programs for shipment security means faster border clearance for your shipments, a secure supply chain, dedicated lanes and a strong Customs partnership.
Secure Border Crossings
Yellow is at the forefront of the changes taking place at North America’s borders, helping to develop programs that improve supply-chain security while keeping the borders open to legitimate trade.
We worked with federal agencies to help develop the transportation requirements for the U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program, the Canada Partners in Protection (PIP) program, and the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program of the Canadian and U.S. governments.
In return for participating in these initiatives, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency promise importers faster processing and fewer inspections. To participate, importers must use transportation providers that are approved for these programs. Yellow was one of the first transportation providers authorized to participate in these federally backed programs for protecting the supply chain.
TWIC Licensed
The Yellow Corporation family of companies has invested time and resources to ensure drivers with TWIC identification cards are strategically located throughout our networks.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is a bio-metric identification credential permitting unescorted access to secure areas in all U.S. ports. TWIC defines a “port” as water ports, inland non-water ports, regulated facilities or warehouse complexes.
TWIC was phased-in nationwide Oct. 15, 2008 through April 15, 2009. Its goal: ensure any individual who has unescorted access to secure areas of port facilities and vessels has received a thorough background check and is not a known security threat.
There are 1 million workers (truck drivers, port employees, long shore workers, Coast Guard-credentialed merchant mariners, etc.) now enrolled in TWIC.
